All Belong Week at HCS!!
We are excited to announce that our theme for this year is “Glorifying God by identifying the beauty in the cultural diversity of our neighbours.” We invite your family to joyfully participate in the experience in
a variety of ways:
A) Bring In A Flag
Your child is invited to bring in a flag from a different country (or our own) that will be hung up in our student lounge area. Size does not matter! Please label your flag with your child’s name. If your family does not have a flag, they can choose to print one off and color it.
B) Send in Sample of Food from Your Culture or Another Culture From October 19-23, parents are invited to send in a small portion (tiny bite-size) sample of food from their family’s culture or one they visited/experienced for their child’s class to try. You can also choose to send in an explanation about the food (where it originates, when it would be eaten, what it is made of, etc…). Please be sure to contact your child’s teacher if you are interested in participating in this
activity.
C) Identify Your Cultural Heritage or One You Visited
Students (and parents) are also invited to put a dot on a large world map indicating either where their family’s ancestors are from or a place they have visited. We will have this map on display in our student lounge during our All Belong week.
D) Guess The Object
Students will be invited to identify the purpose and country origin of 4 different objects located in the
student lounge. Small prizes (e.g chocolate bar) will be given for those who correctly identify both
where the object is from and what it is/its purpose.

Our Shop & Save team is back in the school every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30! PLUS we have new shops added this year, Sephora, H&M and Bass Pro Shops!! 👏 👏
This is a great way to support our school, save on tuition, all while shopping at your favourite stores, and even getting gas!
Last week at HCS was fire prevention week! This also coincided with our school wide safety procedure drills. The JK and SK class were visited by some special guests. 6 firefighters from the Central Huron Fire Department including Sparky the Firefighter Pup. The JK/SK students were big fans! The firefighters showed the students what it looks like when they are fully suited up, they taught them about fire safety, and they gave the students a tour of two different fire engines. We are so grateful for community helpers like our volunteer fire fighters who took time out of their lives to provide a meaningful learning opportunity for our students.
It’s that time of year again! 🍫
Our Chocolate Letter fundraiser is back!

Running for a cause 💛
Last week, HCS hit the track in honour of Terry Fox and his incredible legacy of courage, determination, and hope. We also ran for those we love and remember—those who have faced cancer, those who are fighting, and those we carry in our hearts.
We praise God for another beautiful day!
‼️ Last call for Spirit Wear ‼️
Online orders will be open till this Friday, September 25.
On the third Wednesday of each month, students may wear HCS Spirit Wear in place of their regular uniform pieces (for example, an HCS T-shirt instead of their uniform polo).
Please remember that this is not a dress-down day. Regular uniform expectations for bottoms still apply —unless wearing Spirit Wear bottoms.
Grade 8 Class of 2027 Hoodies
We are also offering a special Class of 2027 hoodie for our Grade 8 students this year. These hoodies can also be worn as a regular school sweater throughout the entire school year.
A quick note: On the Creative Casuals order sheet, the hoodie currently says Class of 2026, but the correct year will be 2027 on the finished hoodie.
