JK/SK had special guests from Ferguson Apiaries to teach them about bees, beekeeping and honey. The students enjoyed trying out their equipment and protective gear. They learned about the bee life cycle, pollination, honeycomb is made up of hexagons, and how a hexagon is a strong shape! Each student got to make a candle and get their own jar of honey. Then the students did some taste testing of different varieties of honey (wildflower, clover and creamed) and graphing their favourite kind. A big thank you to Ferguson Apiaries !!
